I like this part of the devotion:
"Teach us to look beyond the beauty to see Your hand at work."
This is one of the things I liked about teaching Cubbies. In the first weeks you got to take the kids on a nature walk and begin to teach them this idea.

Re: September 17th
We don't have that reach out a grab you kind of beauty that some of you do but the last couple of mornings when I walk at 5 it has been cooler and more clear and the stars have been amazing. This morning the moon was big and bright and looked more like the sun than the moon and it reminds me off Gods power and that he is the creator of all things. I saw a very different kind of beauty this week when I saw a friends dying 96 year old mother who is in no pain and just wants to sleep. While there is sadness in the loss my friend can watch her mother peacefully curled up in the fetal position and feel comforted by the fact that there is no pain and it is very natural. Hopefully she won't linger to long as it is sad to watch.

I get to experience God's beauty daily as I drive to work and see Bear Mountain. It doesn't matter how many times you do it, it never gets old.
