The older I get the more I see this wisdom in this verse. When we focus on worldly riches we are denied heavenly riches; the things that really count. Those who continue to try to gain earthly riches generally suffer from broken relationships, stress, and loneliness.

I find that I am most content when I don't focus on MY contentment but follow verse 11; ..."pursue righteousness, Godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness".
