Not only did He give his Son as the atonement for our sins but He also chose to forgive each and everyone of those sins. It can be so hard to understand when we at times can choose to hold a little grudge or in our mind plot a little revenge. What LOVE that each of us is free from ALL sin.

July 27th Empty Confession is good for the soul.

Today's reading made me think of the role of confession in our lives. If Jesus' sacrifice was for the forgiveness of ALL sins and our omnipotent God knows of  ALL our sins, then what is the role of confession? Is confession then necessary for the forgiveness of sin? It seems that confession works best as an acknowledgement of sin and a forgiveness of self. God forgives us, but we have to forgive ourselves too in order to function and continue to have a growing relationship with God.
