While today's author chose to share verses to speak to the issue of leadership, my mind seemed to focus on something else in those same verses. Paul mentions that "We are weak...we are dishonored...we go hungry and thirsty, we are in rags, we are brutally treated, we are homeless...we work hard...we are cursed...we are persecuted...we are slandered...we have become the scum of the earth..."

The early Christians had it so hard and we have it so easy. Perhaps it because I've been presently reading about the killing of Christians in the Middle East. They are living through many of the challenges that Paul mentions yet maintain their faith. How would Americans react if we had the persecution others endure?
