I think the most powerful lesson we learn from Coach Wooden is the importance of priorities. If we place God first, everything else seems to work out. Our greatest problems appear when we, out of selfishness, get away from our priorities. Our jobs are great examples of this concept. We make the notoriety or promotion more important than God or our families. To check this all we have to do is examine our calendars. What dominates our planners, dominates our lives. Is time for God or Godly activities on there? Are special times, excluding watching our children at play, do we calendar activities that honor God? Thinks that make me go Hmm...Embarassed

A simple, humble man from humble beginnings who honored God, respected his father, cherished his wife and didn't let fame change his priorities or principles. He impacted thousands with his coaching and speaking but those that played for him and then became famous all say that the biggest impact he had on them was in teaching them how to become a man of honor. A simple man that God used in a big way because he let his light shine. Wow, what an example.
