The older and somewhat wiser I get the more I realize we are all just sinners saved by grace. Not different degrees of sinners, just sinners. There isn't much room for pride there.
The old fashioned practice of kneeling in prayer is also a good way of bringing those prideful feelings down a bit. There is something very humbling about being on your knees before The Lord. Maybe a little soreness in the knees would be good for all of us.
