Help From His Spirit

I think, or at least hope, that most of our New Year's resolutions would be of the nature that glorify God. I understand the author's point that "all of these things relate to soul-improvement rather than self-improvement." But aren't most things that relate to self-improvement also contribute to soul-improvement? Most people make resolutions that would positively affect their health which would also affect their spiritual life. Perhaps it's just an issue of semantics. I hope my resolution to continue to study God's word on a daily basis, along with others, continues to be blessed by God.
