"Some think of the Lord as unloving and waiting for us to slip up so He can punish us." This statement is what separates my childhood spiritual walk from my adult experience. Growing up attending Catholic school, back in the day, it felt like we believed God was an accountant keeping a ledger on our activities. We had to do a number of good works to counterbalance our sinful ways. It was tough. We rarely spoke of the love of God and wanting to do the right thing out of love. What a different experience!
